# CHALK THERAPY DOES IT AGAIN! Defending Champions Capture Their 6th Braggers Cup Victory! **15th Edition of the Braggers Cup Team Challenge | October 10, 2026** The Braggers Cup is staying in Trenton! The defending champions, **Chalk Therapy**, successfully defended their title for the sixth time, defeating Peterborough's **Troubleshooters 9–6** in the 15th edition of the Braggers Cup Team Challenge. What unfolded was an exciting back-and-forth battle featuring clutch performances, momentum swings, and plenty of competitive pool before the champions ultimately proved why they continue to hold the Cup. ### A Strong Start for the Champions The competition opened with the traditional Team Singles 8-Ball format, featuring all five players from each team competing within their respective FargoRate categories, followed by additional captain-selected matchups. Chalk Therapy came out firing, taking the opening set **5–3**. Shawn Higgins, Dawn Henderson, and Justin Muia each contributed two victories during the opening set, helping the defending champions establish an early advantage. However, the challengers weren't about to let the champions run away with it. ### Peterborough Battles Back! With the opening set complete, the competition shifted into a mixture of Scotch Doubles 9-Ball and Singles 8-Ball races. Chalk Therapy extended their advantage to 4–1 in the overall match standings, but the challengers began mounting a comeback. Doug Joy and Kara Clarke picked up a crucial 5–4 Scotch Doubles victory over Greg Stewart and Dawn Henderson, while Doug Joy later edged Stewart 3–2 in Singles 8-Ball. The challengers continued to build momentum, with Ben Griffiths and Jacky Sharman delivering a commanding 5–0 Scotch Doubles victory over Mark Thompson and Justin Muia. **Just like that, the match was tied 5–5!** With the Cup suddenly up for grabs, the pressure was squarely back on the defending champions. ### Champions Respond When It Matters Most With the match deadlocked, Chalk Therapy demonstrated the composure that has made them such a difficult team to dethrone. Three consecutive Scotch Doubles victories turned the tide: - **Greg Stewart & Shawn Higgins** defeated Doug Joy & Nathan Lepine, 5–2. - **Dawn Henderson & Justin Muia** defeated Kara Clarke & Jacky Sharman, 5–2. - **Greg Stewart & Mark Thompson** defeated Doug Joy & Ben Griffiths, 5–3. Those three crucial victories pushed Chalk Therapy ahead 8–5, leaving the challengers with little room for error. Nathan Lepine kept Peterborough's hopes alive with a 3–1 Singles 8-Ball win over Shawn Higgins, narrowing the score to 8–6. But Dawn Henderson stepped up in the next match, defeating Kara Clarke 3–2 to deliver the decisive ninth point and secure another Braggers Cup victory for Chalk Therapy! ### A True Team Effort While Chalk Therapy's late Scotch Doubles surge proved decisive, the win was built on contributions throughout the entire lineup. Shawn Higgins and Justin Muia helped set the tone with strong opening-set performances, while Dawn Henderson played a critical role in both the opening set and the closing stages of the competition. Greg Stewart contributed to two of the three consecutive Scotch Doubles victories that broke the 5–5 deadlock, and Mark Thompson was part of the important 5–3 Scotch Doubles victory that extended the champions' lead to 8–5. Credit also goes to the Peterborough challengers, who refused to back down. Doug Joy, Nathan Lepine, Kara Clarke, Ben Griffiths, and Jacky Sharman all contributed to a spirited effort that kept the competition close well into the final stages. ### Six Successful Challenges — And Still the Champions! With the **9–6 victory**, Chalk Therapy has now successfully won the Braggers Cup six times, continuing their impressive run as Cup holders. A big thank you to both teams for another great edition of the Braggers Cup Team Challenge, and to everyone who came out to support the players and follow the action. **Congratulations to Chalk Therapy — the Braggers Cup remains in Trenton!**
