Division Review

October 14, 2026

Fall Tuesday 8-Ball

Poolhall Junkies Takes Over First Place

Seven weeks are complete in the Fall Tuesday 8-Ball Division, and for the first time in several weeks Poolhall Junkies sits alone at the top.

Poolhall's 1½–1½ tie with GTA Boys moves them to 13½ rounds, just ahead of Unleash The Dragon and Lettuce Win at 13.

Behind them, VGJ made the biggest move of the night with a sweep and jumps into fourth at 11 rounds, narrowly ahead of Here For Beers on the Games Won tiebreak.

And the Top 4 race remains incredibly tight — only one round separates fourth place from 11th.

Poolhall Moves Into First

Poolhall Junkies and GTA Boys couldn't be separated, finishing 1½–1½ in rounds and 9–9 in individual games.

That half-round was enough to give Poolhall sole possession of first at 13½ rounds.

Their season remains one of the clearest examples of how Tuesday's handicap system affects the standings. Poolhall currently has a 55–71 individual-game record, yet their handicap-adjusted round results have put them at the top of the 17-team division.

GTA Boys moves to 10½ rounds and remains right in the middle of the crowded chase group.

Jim Smith provided one of GTA's strongest individual performances of the night, going 5–1 with 56 points.

Bonnie's Knocks Off Unleash

After entering Week 7 tied for the division lead, Unleash The Dragon was dealt a 2–1 loss by Bonnie's Ball Breakers.

The individual games finished 9–9, but Bonnie's captured two of the three handicap-adjusted rounds.

That moves Bonnie's to 10 rounds, while Unleash picks up one and slips to second at 13.

Unleash still owns the strongest Games Won total in the division at 77, giving them the tiebreak advantage over Lettuce Win, which also sits at 13 rounds.

Lettuce Win Sweeps Into the Top Three

Lettuce Win made another major move by sweeping Hot Shots 3–0.

Lettuce also won the individual-game battle 11–7, pushing their season total to 68 games won.

Val McMurray led the way with a 5–1 night, improving to 27–15 and 64.3% through seven weeks.

After sitting outside the early leaders during the first few weeks, Lettuce has steadily climbed the table and now sits only half a round out of first.

VGJ Sweeps Into Fourth

The biggest standings jump of Week 7 belongs to VGJ.

They swept Classic Rock 3–0 while also winning 12 of 18 individual games, moving from 8 rounds all the way to 11.

VGJ has now captured 7 of its last 9 available rounds over the past three weeks and suddenly sits in fourth place.

JP Joseph remains the division's overall individual leader after adding a 4–2 night. He now stands at 31–11, 73.8%, with a division-high 31 games won.

Gord Proud also enjoyed a strong 4–2 night.

Classic Rock, meanwhile, remains at 10 rounds after entering the week in the Top 4.

Here For Beers Keeps Winning

Here For Beers continues one of the quieter but more impressive runs in the division.

They defeated Pho Cues 2–1, giving them four consecutive match victories around their Week 5 bye.

What makes the Week 7 result especially interesting is the individual-game score.

Pho Cues won 13 of the 18 games — yet Here For Beers won two of the three handicap-adjusted rounds.

That's one of the strongest examples we've seen this session of why Games Won alone cannot be used to judge the outcome of a Tuesday matchup.

Here For Beers now sits at 11 rounds through only six played matches, putting them immediately outside the Top 4.

Three Players Produce Perfect Nights

Week 7 produced three 6–0 performances.

Brandon Cormier — Pho Cues, 60 points
Bill Van Blaricom — Blue Balls, 60 points
Mark Foote — Jinxies Boys, 60 points

Interestingly, only one of those perfect individual performances came as part of a team victory.

Van Blaricom's night helped Blue Balls defeat 3 Some 2–1, while Pho Cues and Jinxies Boys both lost their team matches despite perfect performances from Cormier and Foote.

It's another reminder of how much more there is to Tuesday 8-Ball than simply adding up individual wins.

Cormier has now climbed to 24–12 and 66.7%, while Van Blaricom is also 24–12 and 66.7% through six appearances.

Blues Cues Bounces Back

After being swept by Pho Cues in Week 6, Blues Cues responded with a 2–1 victory over Jinxies Boys.

The teams split the individual games 9–9, but Blues captured two rounds and moves to 10½ rounds through six matches.

That puts them only half a round outside the current Top 4.

Jinxies Boys moves to 9½ rounds and remains within striking distance despite dropping two consecutive matches following its earlier back-to-back sweeps.

Rack Em Up Takes Two From Give Us a Break

Defending Summer champion Rack Em Up picked up an important 2–1 win over Give Us a Break.

Rack Em Up dominated the individual-game side 14–4, led by an excellent 5–1, 57-point night from Herb McSpadden.

They move to 7 rounds overall, while Give Us a Break reaches 10.

After beginning the Fall session near the top of the standings, Give Us a Break is now part of an extremely congested group battling around the Top 4 cutoff.

More Week 7 Standouts

Along with the three perfect performances, several players recorded excellent 5–1 nights:

Herb McSpadden — 57 points
Mike Draker — 56
Jim Smith — 56
Val McMurray — 55
Gerry Cunningham — 53

Draker moves to 30–12 and 71.4%, while Cunningham improves to 25–11 and 69.4%.

Among players who have competed all seven weeks, the leaders now include:

JP Joseph — 31–11, 73.8%
Mike Draker — 30–12, 71.4%
Val McMurray — 27–15, 64.3%
Eric Ricard — 26–16, 61.9%
Chris Bateman — 26–16, 61.9%

Top 4 Race Gets Even Tighter

After Week 7:

Poolhall Junkies — 13.5 rounds

Unleash The Dragon — 13, 77 games won
Lettuce Win — 13, 68

VGJ — 11, 74

Here For Beers — 11, 39

Blues Cues — 10.5, 55
GTA Boys — 10.5, 51

Then comes another group at 10 rounds:

Classic Rock — 10
Pho Cues — 10
Bonnie's Ball Breakers — 10
Give Us a Break — 10

That means only one round separates fourth through 11th place.

With the Fall session paying the Top 4, there may not be a more important part of the standings to watch over the next several weeks.

Week 8 Could Reshape the Leaders Again

October 20 brings several matches directly involving teams near the front.

Classic Rock vs. Poolhall Junkies gives Classic Rock a chance to climb right back into the Top 4 while Poolhall tries to protect first place.

GTA Boys vs. Lettuce Win is another important matchup between two teams firmly in the chase.

Unleash The Dragon vs. Blue Balls gives Unleash an opportunity to reclaim first if Poolhall gives up ground.

The rest of the schedule has Give Us a Break against Pho Cues, Here For Beers against Blues Cues, Hot Shots against Jinxies Boys, Rack Em Up against BSB Boys and VGJ against Bonnie's Ball Breakers.

3 Some has the Week 8 bye.

Seven Weeks In

Week 7 changed the standings again.

Poolhall Junkies has taken sole possession of first, Unleash The Dragon has dropped to second after a loss to Bonnie's, Lettuce Win has swept its way into a tie for second, and VGJ has surged all the way into the Top 4.

Meanwhile, Here For Beers has quietly won four straight matches, Blues Cues remains only half a round outside the payout positions, and seven more teams sit within one round of fourth place.

The individual race remains just as competitive, with JP Joseph holding the lead among the seven-week regulars, Mike Draker close behind and three different players producing perfect nights in Week 7.

At the halfway point of the 17-week session, the standings are anything but settled. With only one round separating fourth through 11th, nearly half the division is still right in the middle of the Fall Top 4 race.
