A Championship Decided on the Final Night
The 2026 Summer Sunday Trios session couldn't have produced a much tighter finish.
Entering the final week, Cue Teks sat first with 21.0 rounds, but had already completed its schedule due to a Week 13 bye. Less Talk, More Chalk and Team #1 were both just one round behind at 20.0, leaving the championship to be decided on the tables while Cue Teks could only watch.
When the final games were completed, Less Talk, More Chalk emerged as the Summer champions with 22.0 rounds, taking two of three rounds from Pool Boys to move past Cue Teks.
Less Talk Completes an Impressive Comeback
Less Talk's championship is even more impressive considering how the session began.
After opening with back-to-back losses, the team went 10 consecutive played matches without another loss, finishing the stretch with seven wins and three ties.
Mark Thompson was a major part of that run, with Pascal Bilodeau and Ryan Persaud also providing important contributions throughout the session. Less Talk finished with 122 team games won to go along with its division-leading 22 rounds.
Second Place Goes All the Way to the Third Tiebreaker
The battle behind Less Talk couldn't have been much closer.
Team #1 entered the final week on a four-match winning streak but was held to one round by Ball Breakers, leaving them tied with Cue Teks at 21.0 rounds.
That forced the league's tiebreaking procedure into action:
1. Rounds Won — tied at 21.0
2. Games Won — tied at 118
3. Session head-to-head — Cue Teks wins the tiebreak
Cue Teks had defeated Team #1 2–1 in rounds in their regular-season meeting, giving Cue Teks the second-place finish and Team #1 third.
It is hard to get much closer than finishing an entire session tied in both rounds and games won.
Cue Teks Holds On for Second
Cue Teks spent much of the Summer at or near the top of the standings and finishes second despite a difficult closing stretch.
Jack Jury and Vince Brant were two of the team's strongest performers, finishing at 59.3% and 58.3% respectively, with Gord Proud contributing throughout the full session.
Their 21 rounds and 118 games won ultimately proved just enough once the head-to-head tiebreak was required.
Individual Performances
The Sunday session also featured several excellent individual performances.
Among the established players, the final standings were led by Greg Stewart at 73.3%, followed by Dave Beaton at 69.8% and Mike Draker at 68.9%. Mark Thompson, Chris Bateman, Carl Yates and Henry Koster all finished above 60%.
Other strong seasons included Jack Jury and Vince Brant for Cue Teks, Curtis Snyder and Mike Vaneck for Pool Boys, JP Joseph, Sergio Pingitore and several others who helped keep the standings competitive throughout the Summer.
Final Takeaway
What looked like a Cue Teks championship only a few weeks ago turned into one of the closest finishes of the Summer.
Less Talk, More Chalk overcame an 0–2 start and went unbeaten the rest of the way to claim first place.
Cue Teks and Team #1 then finished dead even in both rounds won and games won, forcing the final standings all the way to the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Congratulations to Less Talk, More Chalk on capturing the 2026 Summer Sunday Trios Division championship — and to all of the teams and players for a session that remained undecided until the final night.
